Farewell Acknowledge This!
Kaya y'all
At the end of last year, I felt like a coiled-up spring. Like a can of soda that’s been shaken. Frantic and hyper. That’s when I decided to cross something off my bucket list, and spend a month alone in the woods.
February was a massive re-set. Most days I spent lazing from bed, to couch, to porch, to couch, and then back to bed. Blissful, infinite rest. Spacious reflection. Renovations and integrations.
“Endings are beginnings” was the unplanned theme of my retreat.
I love our work. Every day is different, and each day I get to interact with a new group of humans. We go into your workspace and get to feel and participate in your culture. It’s a deeply moving and intimate act really, one I cherish. I always leave feeling honoured to share time without screens, being human with you.
The intimacy of the Acknowledge This! workshop means that many of the conversations are unexpected. We’ll be talking at one level and then one person will open up and share, and we all clunk down, moving deeper as one. Each workshop is authentic, not a copy of any other.
As a lover of deep and meaningful conversations, these five years of Acknowledge This! has made me rich. Rich in spirit, knowledge and experience, and overflowing with love for our humanness. Thank you to every single one of you! Especially those magic, golden conversations where we truly witnessed each other exploring our fears and sharing our vulnerabilities. Even now, I vividly remember specific feelings and moments shared. I am eternally grateful to shine alongside all of you.
I realise now, all the way through this letter that I haven’t actually told you. As if I couldn’t bear to write this one sentence:
I am retiring from Acknowledge This!
This decision does not come lightly and has been brewing for some time. My love for our work became outweighed by my curiosity to do something new. Rhys and I have discussed this option for a while, and we are both solid that now is the right time.
It is business as usual for Acknowledge This! and the business will continue to thrive under Rhys’ leadership. The content will stay the same and all future workshops will be delivered by him. Rhys is an exceptionally talented entertainer, thinker and charmer and will make the show his own. Personally, I’m excited to see how Rhys’ solo version evolves the content even more.
This announcement is bittersweet. Sad to go, and excited for next.
Our world is changing constantly and conversations are a strategic tool for the future. Yet we’re not talking about how we talk, and we aren’t pausing to evaluate how we can communicate better. This is what I’m going to be tackling next in my work. Reach out or follow me as it develops!
Much love,
Emma
